Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today, it’s now or never, seize the moment, live for today, what you waiting for, sometimes later becomes never.

 We have all heard these amazing wonderful sayings, we have all been told them a million times and the likelihood is we have said them just as many, so why do we keep putting things off, why do we find excuses to start tomorrow, why do we never get everything done in life we have always wanted. Why are we not living in the moment and fulfilling our dreams, we all have them?

Procrastination: the action of delaying or postponing something.

We suffer from it daily. We put off millions of things on a daily basis for one reason or another. So, let’s see if we can maybe change our outlook and stop being a procrastinator.

Number 1 and the most important thing to remember is, happiness happens by change not chance. If we are not happy and constantly dream of fulfilment or happiness or a different routine or life style, then let’s ask a laid bare, honest, open question. What’s stopping me from changing and going after it.

You yes you are the only thing stopping you from going after life goals and dreams. We really are at times are our own worst enemy when it comes to change so let’s look at how we can stop our self from stopping the changes we want to make in life happen. Now we could be talking about a number of subjects, Love, relationships, work, life style, location, attitude, friends, the list is endless and not exclusive so this advice can be modelled on any aspect of life that you want to change. Carry out an ecology check: An ecology check is basically us looking at the change we want to make and the resulting actions of the change, this way we have a rough idea of all the follow-on actions from our change, let’s remember the change won’t just effect you so we need to ensure we are happy with what will happen once the change starts and ensure we are prepared for it and don’t back track once it happens. A basic ecology check involves this.     Think as if you are in the future.     What are the wider consequences of my action?     What will I lose if I make this change?     What extra will I have to do?     Is it worth it?     What will I gain if I make this change?     What is the price of making this change and am I willing to pay it?     What are the good aspects of the present state?     How can I keep those good aspects while making the change that I want?     How will my change affect others?     Does it go against any of their values?     Does this matter?     How will they react?

Give it your everything: You will only get out of something what you put in to it, no one is going to do the hard work for you. You need to remember before any long term gain or pleasure from our change there may be some pain and discomfort, this does not last forever. Try and see it this way:  for an athlete to become the winner and rejoice in his victory, he would have had to do hours and upon hours of hard intensive  training involving pushing beyond limits and pain barriers to achieve what he currently now has, so try to remember we have to accept a little bit of pain for long term pleasure and gain. It’s not going to kill you, it’s not going to leave you weakened and beyond repair it’s just simply short term pain  for long term gain and it will disappear in time as long as we keep the end goal in sight.  So, each and every day we give this change a 100% of our efforts.

Don’t listen to the doubters:  Not everyone will think about your change as you do. Some will see it as a negative and will be only too happy to tell you this. Ask yourself this question when it comes to negative people trying to keep you where you are. Do they feed you, do they provide for you, do the look after your sanity and well-being, do the contribute so greatly in your life you couldn’t manage without them?  Have a think about that for a second and no doubt the majority of answers are no, so why then should we care about their opinion on what changes your making and implementing in your life. They don’t and if they are not happy with what you are trying to achieve and implement in your life, then the question now becomes why are they in your life. Remember we are doing this for us, for our family, for our happiness and the only person whose opinion matters right now is yours. Thank them for their concern and simply carry on normal jogging as they say.

Remember the end goal: When you have a bad day, when your low on motivation, when you think you can’t keep focus, when it all seems too much. KEEP GOING. Push yourself harder than you have ever pushed, drive straight through the discomfort and pain be it emotional or physical. I promise what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger. We have weighed everything up with the ecology check and we know in our heart of hearts it is all going to be worth it. The end is in sight, the change will make you bigger, brighter, happier person, it will give you what you want in life. You will fulfil your dreams and goal and there is no better feeling in the world that personal achievement when we think it isn’t a possibility. Go on surprise yourself and reach for the stars. I promise you might just be surprised at the outcome.
